What Happens Next by Colleen Clayton

What Happens Next
By Colleen Clayton
4.7/5

When did finds herself on a ski lift with a hunky local college guy Dax Windsor, she's thrilled. "Come to a party with me," he tells her, but Dax isn't what he seems. He takes everything from Sid--including a lock of her perfect red curls -- and she can't remember any of it.  After the ski trip, Sid is an insomniac and an obsessive late-night runner, unable to relate to anyone.  Caught in a downward spiral, Sid drops her college prep classes and takes up residence in the A/V room with only Corey "the Living Stoner" Livingston for company. But as she gets to know Corey -- slacker, baker, total dreamboat -- Sid finds someone who truly makes her happy. Now, if only she could shake the nightmares, everything would be perfect....

What Happens Next was amazing! I could relate to Sid and her height, chest, and backside. It is hard being tall and not being able to do anything about it. I myself am 5'7 and I am in my healthy weight range, but I really hate saying my weight. It can be so embarrassing, but I know I am healthy and that's all people need to know.

I enjoyed her character overall, she wasn't annoying or whiny like some protagonists and even if she was she kinda had a reason. She went through this tough issue and was braver that most would be if they stepped in her shoes. She still had some humor and I was so glad for that.

Corey was awesome. I don't think I need to say much more about him except that even though he really didn't exactly know what had happened to Sid, he still was 100% supportive and encouraging to her.

Colleen Clayton wrote the ending perfectly, it couldn't have been any better. Well I can think of one thing that could have made it better, but in reality it doesn't always happen like it does on TV.

I almost felt proud for her even those of course she is fictional, but if you know anything about the author you'd know she has worked with people who went through the same thing.I can't help but feel that there were some things in that book that were based on real experiences. Thinking about it makes me mad for all those dumb cowards who have to forcefully get their short term pleasure. It sickens me.

Like I put at the top of the post I would give it a 4.75 out of 5. So if you wanted a deep --but not too deep- book then this is the one. I would think about it laying on my bed. So go get this book.
